TIM | CAMERON
{eCampaign Consultant}
Tim got his start in politics in the fifth grade running his own campaign for class president. He made flyers and signs using clip art on his parent’s IBM, and shored up grassroots support of the various student factions in Mrs. Eisenhower’s class. He went on to win the election, and while in office negotiated an extra fifteen minutes of recess on Fridays if the class behaved during the rest of the week. While still in grade school, Tim developed a love for garnering earned media. He was featured several times in the South’s premier newspaper, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, for his intimate knowledge of camping, finding a Civil War cannon ball, and running in to a house engulfed in flames to save his friend’s dog (seriously, we’re not kidding).
After graduating from Marietta High School, Tim went on to the University of South Carolina where he majored in political science. He served as president of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, and during his term he was able to recruit the largest pledge class in the 120 history of his chapter. He also raised over $35,000 in alumni donations.
Tim’s first formal job in politics was at the South Carolina Republican Party while he was still attending USC. He started there as an unpaid intern, but eventually rose through the ranks to become Deputy Finance Director. At the same time he was working at the SCGOP, he also served as the State Director for the College Republican Confederation of South Carolina.
After graduating, Tim went on to serve as campaign manager for Phillip Lowe’s State House race. Lowe went on to when by a twenty point margin in a highly moderate district. It was the largest margin of victory by a Republican since Reconstruction.
He also served as campaign manger for Shane Massey’s State Senate bid. Despite being outspent three-to-one in the primary, he was able to help carry Massey to victory. Massey would then go on to defeat Bill Clyburn in the general election. Massey’s victory represented the first time a Republican has ever held that seat in history.
Tim currently serves as editor-in-chief of Shot Politics, which is one of South Carolina’s largest political news publications. He enjoys deep sea fishing, playing tennis, golfing, and watching episodes of his favorite show, “The Wire”, on his days off. Before he dies he wants to climb Mount Everest, go skydiving, visit all six major continents, and DESIGN YOUR NEXT WEBSITE.
